Silk Flowers: Better than the Real Thing
Silk flowers are not what they
used to be—thankfully! Back in the day you could spot a silk flower from a
mile away. The dull color, the wilted petals, the cheap facade. Let’s face
it, they looked fake. However, nowadays, silk flowers have come a long way!
They are really stunning, even rivaling the beautiful appearance of natural

Just like authentic flowers, silk flowers come in an array of colors, sizes,
and shapes. If you can name a flower, you can be sure that there is a silk
flower duplicate on the market. But you may be wondering, “Why should I

need food nor water, like real flowers. Plus, they do not require sunlight.

• Easy clean-up.—Unlike real flowers whose soil can get messy and shed
leaves and petals about, silk flowers create no mess whatsoever. To clean
your silk flowers, all you need is a feather duster.
• No allergies.—Many people love flowers, but are highly allergic to them.
With silk flowers, these folks can enjoy the beauty of flowers without the
sneezes and runny noses… Unless they are allergic to silk!
• Will not harm your pets.—Some flowers, such as calla lilies are poisonous
to animals. With silk flowers, you don’t have to worry about Fido or FiFi
eating the leaves and getting sick. Most silk flowers cannot harm your pets.
But to be on the safe side, always ask the florist if the silk flowers they
sell are pet-friendly.
How Much?
In the case of silk flowers, you pay for what you get. The prices of silk
flowers will vary according to size, quality of the silk, and workmanship.
So, if you are looking to bring the most realistic silk flowers into your
home, be prepared to spend a bit of money. We are not talking about a
fortune, but more than one may expect to spend. For example, let’s say you
wanted to buy a small silk flower arrangement of pink carnations for an
accent table in your home. A nice, realistic bouquet will cost you around
$40.00. Any less, and your arrangement will look phony.
Now, let’s say you spent around $125.00 for a large bearded iris
centerpiece. Well, then, be sure that your guests will not be able to tell
the difference between your faux irises and real irises. That is a very
reasonable price for premium silk flowers.
Silk flowers are a great way to lighten up you home with vivid colors for
every season. And when you purchase first-rate silk flowers, no one will be
able to tell that they are not the real deal. Best of all, you will never
have to worry about the longevity of silk flowers because they always look
in bloom!
